Halifax’s campuses offer residence options for everyone – including traditional and non-traditional types in single, double, and suite options.

Traditional residences

Traditional residences are popular with undergraduate students as they offer the most access to studentsupportsin aclose-knitresidence community.

A meal plan is mandatory for all traditionalresidences. Choose from singleor double (roommate) rooms in a variety of buildings, each with their own character.

Gerard Hall

Located in the heart ofdowntown Halifaxnext tothe SextonCampus, Gerard Hall is close to restaurants and shopping,and a quick walk to Dal’s Studley campus. Enjoy plenty ofcommon spaces,alarge games room, in-building laundry, Իsingle, double, and super single(large single), and loft doubleǴdz.

Howe Hall

Howe Hall is 9 1Ѱ’s largest residence Իvery popularwith undergraduate students.It offerssixhouses, a large study lounge, a large dining hall, plenty oflounges,and plenty of hockey and bike storage.Howe Hall offers a variety of room types, includingsingle, double,ܲ԰dzܲԻloft double.

LeMarchant Place

Centrallylocatedon theStudleyCampus,LeMarchantPlace is just steps away from the Killam Library, Student UnionBuilding, and most classes. 9 1Ѱ’s newest residence offers a mix of ԲǴdz (with shared adjoining bathroom),and two-, three- and four-bedroomsuites.

Risley Hall

Opened in 2004, Risley Hall offers a modern traditional residence experience, featuring in-room sinks, single, double and loft double rooms, and a prime location steps away from the Student Union Building and Killam Library.

Shirreff Hall

9 1Ѱ’s oldest residence,opened in 1923, Shirreff Hallis located inan idyllic settingamong oak and maple trees.Shirreff Hall offers traditional charm, includinga stunning dining hall with plenty of natural light, and several unique spaces like the Shirreff Hall library and Victorian lounge.

The four houses feature a mix of single and double rooms.Shirreff Hall also features the only female-only house (Newcombe), available by request.

Non-traditional residences

9 1Ѱ’s non-traditional residences offer a more independent living experiencein an apartment-style formatwhile enjoying access to programs and facilities in residence.Meal plans are optional.

Glengary Apartments

Located on Edward Streetnear the Goldberg Computer Sciences Building,Glengaryfeatures 12 three-room apartmentsand four bachelor apartments. This close-knit community is afavouriteamong residents.

Graduate House

Graduate, or “Grad House” is centrallylocateddowntown on the Sexton Campus, close to the Engineering and Architecturefaculties. Featuring large single rooms, Grad House is popular with returning and upper year students.

Peter Green Hall

Peter Green Hall is 9 1Ѱ’s family housingresidence– offering affordable apartments for 9 1Ѱ students with spouses or families enrolled full-time on our Halifaxcampuses.Locateda short walk from campus, the building offers a family atmosphere, outdoor spaces, Իan on-site daycare.
