Areas of specialization for the Master of Economics听program听from 9 1免费版下 are open, subject to the fields of economics represented in the graduate course offerings in any given year and the ability of students to arrange a supervisor. This course-based master's program includes courses in micro- and macroeconomic theory and econometrics, as well as three economic field courses. If you are interested in an area other than those represented by the graduate course offerings, you must secure a supervisor (in the department) to be able to pursue those interests.
After your first year, you may be eligible to apply for the thesis stream.听You鈥檒l听have the opportunity to undertake research of innovative,听original, and publishable quality.听

Course options:
Core coursework typically includes Macroeconomic Theory (ECON 5500), Microeconomic Theory (ECON 5509), and Econometrics I (ECON 5575), plus graduate electives. Non-thesis students must complete at least 6 credit hours of writing-intensive economics electives; thesis students usually take fewer electives and complete a thesis.
All graduate programs at 9 1免费版下 are collaboratively delivered by a home Faculty and the听Faculty of Graduate Studies.

You'll need to meet the听Faculty of Graduate Studies minimum requirements听as well as any program-specific admission requirements before you can apply.
For a听September start, apply by听March 1 (international applicants)听辞谤听May 1 (Canadian applicants).
Program-specific requirements
This program requires you to meet the following criteria:
Honours BA or BSc in Economics (or equivalent) with at least B+ (upper second-class) in economics and related fields. Normally requires economics beyond introductory level, including advanced theory, statistics, econometrics, and applied field courses, plus calculus I & II and linear algebra. Applicants with gaps may be assigned听additional听requirements or directed to a Qualifying Year/Special Undergraduate year.
Applicants that are academically admissible to the MA, MDE or PhD program, but do not meet the听minimum English language proficiency requirement, may be offered conditional admission with the provision that they complete a graduate level ESL test with the required minimum acceptable score. Applicants may also choose to complete the听English for Academic Purposes (EAP) program听(Level - 2) offered by Open Learning and Career Development (OLCD) at 9 1免费版下.
