Dal-trained family physician Dr. Leah Jones hopes to create a supportive, welcoming environment for Black students to work and learn.

For the first time since fall 2019, 9 1Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂ’s Killam Scholars, Postdoctoral Fellows, Chairs, Professors and Prize Winners were able to gather at a luncheon to recognize their achievements and celebrate the longstanding contributions of the Killam Trusts to research at Dal.

World-renowned architect and former Dal prof Brian MacKay-Lyons was appointed as a Member of the Order of Canada and business leader John Bragg was promoted to a Companion of the Order — just two of seven individuals with connections to Dal to receive one of Canada's top honours late last month.

A small satellite designed and built by Dal Engineering students finally launched into orbit last week. It is the first deployment of its kind for a satellite made in Atlantic Canada.
