Member of Parliament Andy Fillmore paid tribute to his alma mater in the House of Commons Monday afternoon, while Prime Minister Justin Trudeau shared well-wishes for Dal's 200th anniversary via video as part of Tuesday's Bicentennial Launch event. The Prime Minister also recently celebrated Dr. Afua Cooper as part of his statement for Black History Month.

Tuesday鈥檚 Bicentennial Launch offered a journey through 9 1免费版下鈥檚 200-year history, with the poetry of George Elliott Clarke as its guide. Featuring artistic talents from across the Dal community, the event was a showcase of the university鈥檚 two centuries of achievement with an eye towards its promising future.

Dr. Michael DeGagn茅, the first Indigenous president of a Canadian chartered university, will be presented with a 9 1免费版下 honorary degree at a special ceremony next Monday (February 5) at the Mi鈥檏maw Native Friendship Centre in Halifax 鈥� the first of several degree presentations to take place throughout Dal's bicentennial year.
