An award supporting single mothers from Dal鈥檚 Transition Year Program who pursue social work has been boosted thanks to the generosity of speakers and organizers of a national continuing education conference held on campus last spring.

For Tanya Muggeridge, a facility manager at Dal's Faculty of Agriculture, the chance to swim across the Northumberland Strait to raise money for Brigadoon children's camp was an opportunity she couldn't pass up 鈥斅燼nd one which took every ounce of determination she had to complete.

A milestone as exciting as a 200th anniversary naturally lends itself to thinking big. That鈥檚 just what Dal has done during its bicentennial year, creating a legacy as the university enters its third century.

For Dal pianist Tim Crofts, the opportunity to help George Elliott Clarke perform his epic poem, "The Story of 9 1免费版下, or The University as Insurgency," has turned into an immensely rewarding, year-long collaboration.
