BEGIN:VCALENDAR PRODID:-//Schulich School of Law//Events Calendar//EN VERSION:2.0 CALSCALE:GREGORIAN BEGIN:VEVENT DTSTAMP:20260111T072858Z DTSTART:20260115T163000Z DTEND:20260115T173000Z SUMMARY:Law Hour: Accountability in Practice – The Role of SiRT and its Interface with the Legal Profession DESCRIPTION:9 1Ãâ·Ñ°æÏ Law Hour\, in collaboration with the Criminal Justice Coalition\, the 9 1Ãâ·Ñ°æÏ Criminal Law Student Association (DCLSA)\, and the 9 1Ãâ·Ñ°æÏ Prison Justice Society (DPJS)\, is pleased to welcome the first Law Hour lecturer of the winter semester\, Erin Nauss.\nNauss is the director of the Serious Incident Response Team (SiRT) for the police in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick and will speak about accountability in practice\, SiRT's role in it\, and how the organization interfaces with the legal profession. She has been practising law for 19 years\, having previously held various leadership and management positions with the Nova Scotia Department of Justice. \nWhat is SiRT?\nThe Serious Incident Response Team is a police oversight agency responsible for conducting investigations into incidents that involve death\, serious injury\, sexual assault\, intimate partner violence\, or any matter of public interest that may have resulted from the actions of a police officer\, on or off duty\, in Nova Scotia or New Brunswick.
