Learning in the Field

Posted by Stephanie Rogers on September 9, 2014 in News

What examples of social change do we have right here in our campus community? It does not take long to see that we have access to rich and long history of human ingenuity and determination to improve their quality of life.

Students in Dr. Kevany’s  Leadership Theories and Social Action class went out to the field to discover some links between examples of social change. What do the Berlin Wall pieces, the Cobequid Trail and an Aboriginal Arrowhead have in common? They are illustrations of human determination to take a situation and innovate together to make it better.

The students will be leading diverse forms of service to make their own improvements for the duration of this course.  What they take away from this class and their undergraduate and diploma experiences helps them to continue to make a difference wherever they go.
